On April 29, 2015, Panarin agreed to terms with the Chicago Blackhawks on a two-year entry-level contract.

In the opening game of the season, Panarin scored his first career National Hockey League goal, on his first career shot, against Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers.

On November 8, 2015, Panarin became the first Blackhawks rookie to score twice in the first period since Jonathan Toews in 2008.

Edler, the Canucks’ highest-scoring defenseman with 20 points in 52 games, has a fractured fibula and is expected to be out for six weeks, the team announced Friday.

Sutter is expected to miss six to eight weeks following surgery for a broken jaw.

Sutter and Edler were sent home Wednesday after suffering injuries in the second period of Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

Sutter was playing in just his fourth game after missing 33 games following sports hernia surgery.

The 24-year-old Panarin, who has played on Chicago’s second line with Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane for most of the season, is second on the team with 34 assists and 52 points. The Blackhawks dropped both games while he was out.
