The Arizona Coyotes enforcer’s candidacy gained momentum through a grassroots Internet movement, which began on a Yahoo Sports podcast, then escalated through Reddit. The Twitter hashtag #VoteJohnScott also became popular as fans grew enamored with the idea of a 6-8, 260-pound forward barrelling down the ice in the new 3-on-3 All-Star Game format, which features a three-game tournament with teams from each division. Scott will captain the Pacific Division.
